We recently moved our electronic resources to a new authentication system named OpenAthens.

Note that if you are using an old link or bookmark for a resource that begins with "spot.lib.auburn.edu," that is an outdated link. The updated links start with "go.openathens.net" instead.

This is a good general link to use to access our Library resources. After going through our Single Sign-On (if necessary), you'll be authenticated with OpenAthens and be sent to the list of our databases by title (or subject). https://go.openathens.net/redirector/auburn.edu?url=https://lib.auburn.edu/find/bytitle.php

Try to use the incognito/private windows; this will start a new browser session without cached data, which might help isolate the problem.

If you are going through Google Scholar, you could also re-establish the Google Scholar Library link. You can go to Google Scholar settings, select your library, and save the changes. This will ensure that Google Scholar is correctly linked to your institution's resources.

According to Google the steps to re-establish the Google Scholar Library link are:

  1. Navigate to Google Scholar: Open your web browser and go to https://scholar.google.com.
  2. Access Settings: Look for the three horizontal lines (hamburger icon) in the top left corner and click it. Then, select "Settings" from the menu.
  3. Select Library Links: In the left-hand menu of the settings page, click on "Library links".
  4. Find Your Library: In the search box provided, type in Auburn University.
  5. Select Your Library: In the search results provided, click the box to the left of 'Auburn University Libraries – Full Text Finder' and 'Auburn University – ProQuest Fulltext'.
  6. Save Changes: Click the "Save" button to apply your changes.
  7. Search for Results: Now, when you search Google Scholar, you'll see links to your library's resources if they are available.

If you are using a Zotero browser extension, we suggest disabling or turning off this feature in Zotero.

Or you may wish to disable the proxy redirection in the Zotero extension in the web browser. According to Google, Zotero's proxy redirect is enabled by default. To disable proxy redirection:

  1. Access Zotero Connector Settings: Right-click the Zotero Connector icon in the browser's extension bar and select "Options" or "Preferences" (depending on the browser).
  2. Navigate to Proxy Settings: In the connector's settings, locate and open the "Proxies" section.
  3. Enable or Disable Redirection: Toggle the "Enable proxy redirection" checkbox to turn it off.
  4. Save Changes: Save the changes to the Zotero Connector preferences.

We hope the information above will be helpful to you. If you continue to have issues with your login or remote access to licensed electronic resources, see our FAQ or complete a Login Problem Report.
